Comida Catering Co. is a small store inside central market. It is a Spanish tapas bar and making its mark in the market with its huge paella pan cooking right in front of the shop. Although we were quite early for dinner at around 5pm, the shop is already packed out with customers. Most people were drawn in by the paella. Some of the customers were even shop staff of other stores in the market. There were three separate tables set up next to the walkway and two long benches attached to the cooking area.
What to wear when visiting a Muslim country?
Today we are going to talk about what to wear in Morocco as a female traveller as well as other Muslim countries. Due to culture differences, women are still considered as more inferior to men. Therefore it is important to dress modestly to avoid being viewed as prostitutes. Many Moroccan women still wears veil to cover up their face, especially in more rural regions. Larger cities like Marrakech and Casablanca, many women dresses more modern and less conservative. However I believe when travelling, it is important to respect the locals and learn about their cultures. Hence it is best to wear clothes that covers the “private” parts, such as both legs and shoulders.
Kangaroo Island Day Trip: Penneshaw Farmers’ Market
On this particular Sunday morning, we headed off to Kangaroo Island for its monthly Farmer’s Market at Penneshaw. Kangaroo is the third largest island in Australia and is 112 kilometer south-west of Adelaide. The island is only 13 kilometer away from the mainland. It is one of the most expensive ferry in the world in relation to its distance and cost. SeaLink is the only company that carries passengers across commercially and charges AUD$98 return per person and AUD$188 return per vehicle. Even the locals don’t get much discounts.
Second visit 72 Hours in Paris III – Exploration of the Dead
Paris is suppose to be City of Romance. However this time we decided to do something different. We visited the largest cemetery in Paris- Père Lachaise Cemetery witnessing Parisians can be romantic gestures everywhere they go. We also visited one of the highlights of our trip- The Catacombs of Paris (the largest grave site in the world). 6 million remains, 19 meters below Paris. It was definitely a day of exploring the dead!
Turkish Halal Pide House @ Yarralumla (Canberra, Australia)
Apparently if you are looking for the best Turkish place in Canberra, you will have to come to Turkish Halal Pide House. Situated in Yarraluma, this place was worth the drive for some authentic cuisine. The portions were certainly HUGE! And they kept coming. We were so glad that we only ordered 2 portions. Herenia even took some left over home for lunch the next day. The shop also sells some Turkish desserts in a box such as Turkish delights. I now wish I have a car in Canberra so I can come back and try their kebabs and traditional Mediterranean pastries.
UNDERSTANDING WEBSITE ANALYTICS
Star of Greece is located at Port Willunga, approximately 1.5 hour drive, which makes a perfect dinner or lunch place if you are on the way to McLaren Vale. The restaurant is situated at a cliff looking over turquoise water where a ship named “Star of Greece” sank in a storm while it was on its way to Britain, killed 17 men in total. York and I really think this is one of the best restaurant we have tried so far together in Australia. This may not be a fancy restaurant, but it is neat and simple and the food is spectacular.
Botanic Gardens Restaurant (Adelaide, Australia)
It is my favorite time of the year again- Festival of Food Adelaide! Where top quality restaurants in South Australia have partnered up with Festival of Food, presenting well-planned 3 course meal menu at fraction of the cost. Since this year I had “no junk mail” on my mail box, I did not receive the invitation myself, however York’s parents did, we I tagged along to the first restaurant on the list- Botanic Gardens Restaurant.
Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant (South Australia, Australia)
Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant is an award winning restaurant situated on the banks of Torrens River in South Australia, only minutes’ walk from Adelaide CBD. Overall it is a nice contemporary modern Australian restaurant for lunch due to the nice view, relaxing atmospheres. The foods are slightly above average and services should be improved. Next time we may give dinner a try.
Lenzerheide Restaurant (South Australia, Australia)
Lenzerheide Restaurant is one of the finest restaurants in Adelaide. It was established in 1989 and has won multiple awards. The appearance of the restaurant looked like a cottage from 1900’s. Once we entered the restaurant, it felt like we were in a different era. The decors were very elegant, reminded me of classy hotels from the early 1900’s. York decided to take me here for our 2 month anniversary celebration after work.
1918 Bistro and Grill (Barossa Valley, South Australia)
After our morning visit to Barossa Chateau at Lyndoch Hill, Lyndoch Bakery and The Whispering Wall at Barossa Reservoir, we finally reached our lunch destination- 1918 Bistro and Grill. This Restaurant is located in one of the major towns of Barossa Valley- Tanunda. The restaurant was a family home back in 1918, in 1992 it turned into Barossa’s first bistro and grill. It is one of the best restaurants in Barossa Valley. The food was delicious and made from fresh, local produce. The dessert was worth a mention, we would love to come back and try out more!
