Last year we travelled around the world with our 8 kg carry-on for 365 days and couldn’t fault our packing list! However, there are now some things that I will never travel without! Whether it’s scorching hot Amazon or freezing cold Antarctica, below are 8 things I must bring on my next big trip!
7 Course 1 Star Michelin Lunch for €35 @ Nectari Restaurant. Barcelona
This was my third time in Barcelona and we thought it would be nice to find a good value Barcelona Michelin lunch. From the Michelin Guide’s Official Website we found that there are 26 restaurants in Barcelona awarded Michelin stars. Many of these Michelin restaurants offers good value Michelin lunch sets so we look a little further to find one with the best value.
A Night in Budapest Spa Hotel @Danubius Gellert Hotel
Arriving in the “Paris of the East” looking across the huge Danube River at the extremely beautiful structures lining on either side of the river bank. Budapest is truly a beautiful city. It is filled with delicious food, classical music playing romantically on the streets and more importantly, the city is famous for its thermal baths. We stayed at a famous Budapest spa hotel, Danubius Gellert Hotel to tick of this must do activity in this this city.
San Pedro de Atacama – Chile’s Outdoor Paradise
San Pedro de Atacama is one of the best towns to visit for travelers on a short trip to Chile. The reason is because this town filled with many unique outdoor activities to do but prepared to pay some touristy prices to do these activities such as salt lake floating, geyser watching, sandboarding, cycling through Death Valley and busing to Moon Valley.
10 Day Antarctica Peninsula with M/V Ocean Nova- Part 2
Today was our most perfect day in Antarctica Peninsula. Everything we did and saw today was enough to justify the ticket price to Antarctica. Upon wakening, we saw huge ice mountains surrounded us. The boat was sailing slowly towards Southern Gerlache Strait and our first location was Dorian Bay at Domay point.
10 Day Antarctica Peninsula with M/V Ocean Nova- Part 1
This is the day that we are boarding Ocean Nova. We have used up 1/4 of our one year budget on this 10 day so I was quite naturally nervous about starting our journey. The most worrying part is that if our clothes will stand the cold of Antarctica since we couldn’t carry too much in our 8 Kg carry on luggage. After the notorious Drake Passage, I shall know if my 8 Kg packing gear article is useful or not.
Visit to Glaciar Perito Moreno in Argentina
After our first stop in Buenos Aires, we made our way down south towards Patagonia region to see Glaciar Perito Moreno. Our original plan was to bus down to El Calafate, however the total journey was going to take over 40 hours as the total distance was over 3000Km!
How to Pack Light for Winter Travels?
Many people avoid winter travel because they find it hard to pack for winter. I used to be the same. It turns out packing light for winter is actually easier than you think, just need to follow the following rule of thumb then you will be fine!
Packing List for Long Term Travel in an 8KG Carry-on
York and I have officially quit our job and will be travelling the world in less than a month’s time! That means we have to pack all our clothes for the year in a carry-on! Things would’ve been a lot easier if we didn’t book a “Last-Minute Antarctica Cruise” to our trip, now we have to pack for cold Antarctica weather as well as hot climate of the Amazons jungles. Below is a detailed packing list for long term travel and what we going to survive on for the next year.
