This is a detailed 17 day Turkey and Greece itinerary I did for my trip in October 2015 with my parents. This summary includes the cost of accommodation, transport details of our trip excluding food for our people. I have wrote separate guides for all the cities we traveled to except for some.
Athens on a Budget: €12 to See Acropolis & Other Ancient Ruins
After starting our trip from Istanbul, we have finally made our way into the Greek capital- Athens! In a way Athens is the birthplace of Classical Greece, therefore of Western civilization, as well as where democracy started. With only 3 days in Athens, I came up with tips on how to travel Athens on a budget.

How to book RTW- Round the World Flights?
When York and I first decided to go on our round the world trip in 2016, our travel had to be carefully planned as some destination has to be visited at a certain date. We had to plan around these destinations and this determined our route and duration of stay in each continent. Here is a guideline of how we ended up booking our Round the World (RTW) flights.
Second visit 72 Hours in Paris III – Exploration of the Dead
Paris is suppose to be City of Romance. However this time we decided to do something different. We visited the largest cemetery in Paris- Père Lachaise Cemetery witnessing Parisians can be romantic gestures everywhere they go. We also visited one of the highlights of our trip- The Catacombs of Paris (the largest grave site in the world). 6 million remains, 19 meters below Paris. It was definitely a day of exploring the dead!
Second visit 72 Hours in Paris II- Palace of Versailles
Personally I reckon Palace of Versailles is one of the must-visit for first timers in Paris, together with the Louvre, Arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Everyone seems to put Notre Dame on the must-see list, however I really don’t think it is that spectacular, there are a lot of other amazing churches in Europe. York was one of those tourists last year, he did not leave the Paris city center and had not heard of Versailles before (shock horror!). I have visited Versailles when I was a kid, I really wanted to show York why this place is so popular!
Second visit 72 Hours in Paris I- The Michelin Experience @ Restaurant Antoine
In a city that is flooded with Michelin Star restaurants, it will be a shame not to visit one. We wanted to eat at a Michelin restaurant preferably one with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Restaurant Antoine seemed to tick all the boxes. It is a 1 starred Michelin restaurant that specializes in seafood which I love. We had a window table that supposedly the best view in the restaurant to see the Eiffel Tower, however I was quite disappointed as the tower was blocked off by the trees (upon further reading it seems like the perfect view of Eiffel Tower is only visible during non-summer months when there are no foliage). Most of the dishes were delicious and the sophisticated taste isn’t something that we could easily replicate in our own kitchen.
Winter Vacation Pack List @ Hokkaido, Japan
When I went to Hokkaido in January, where it snows almost everyday in winter (average temperature in January is -12 to -4 degree Celsius), I decided to write a blog on how to pack for this crazy cold weather. For those you who don’t know, Hokkaido is Japan’s second largest island and is at the northernmost of Japan. Anywhere close to the North Pole is pretty cold in winter.
