It has been a while since we last had fine dining and so on our day off we visited a popular Adelaide fine dining restaurant named Georges on Waymouth. Many of our friends have been to this restaurant before and have said many good things about this place. It is a beautiful and top quality fine dining restaurant. The service was top standard and the food was delicious with unique touches.
Saigon Gate @ North Adelaide, SA
Winny and I decided to have dinner at Saigon Gate because it was close to the cinema on O’Connell street in North Adelaide. The place is like a regular Asian restaurant with staff dressed in a bright Chinese style dresses. They cook a variety of Asian food but I believe that the food is styled in a more Westernised way. They don’t even automatically give out chop sticks on the table.
Sushi Bar Genki @ Adelaide, SA
Sushi Bar Genki is a restaurant that opened towards the end of Gouger Street in Adelaide China town. Winny and I love to come here for good, quick, authentic Japanese food. It is a sushi train restaurant but we like this place a lot better than the restaurants named “Sushi Train”. The food here tastes fresher, better quality and larger in portion. It also has one of the best ramens in Adelaide voted among our friends.
Bistro 25 @ Hahndorf, SA
On our lazy Sunday we wanted to try out a Handorf restaurant called Bistro 25. To avoid the crazy Sunday crowd at Handorf we decided to go have dinner at night. Handorf isn’t far from the city being only around 20 min drive up the freeway. We took a nice stroll around the old German town and enjoyed some of the remaining Christmas lights before we arrived at our dinner place. Bistro 25. The bistro is quite small with a handful of tables. The walls of this restaurant are always filled with painted pictures of local artist. Most of them are on sale and the art work on display changes regularly.
British India @ Adelaide, SA
British India is located around the corner on the end of Gouger Street in China Town. It is right at the end of the row of all other busy restaurants. The outside of the restaurant has a plain old restaurant appearance, nothing spectacular. The inside of the restaurant feels like a time warp to a place where wealthy British Indian merchant would dine. The restaurant was dim and the floor, walls, chair and table is made of dark posh wood. One of the walls hung a painting of the queen.
Nutrition Republic @ Adelaide, SA
Nutrition republic is one of Winny’s favourite organic food store, it is located on King William Road. This place is always packed with fit looking people who are still in their work out clothes. Many of them seem like regulars who make this place their regular catch up place after exercises. All the dishes here are very natural and healthy, hence you are able to indulge with no guilt afterwards. Next time you go down King William Road and have a craving for dessert but also want something healthy, I recommend you to go to Nutrition Republic.
La Rambla Tapas Bar @ Adelaide, South Australia
For dinner tonight we visited a new Tapas bar on Peel Street which is between Hindley Street and Currie Street. I was quite surprised how many new bars and restaurants are popping up in little streets like these in Adelaide. The place looks like a typical bar but the place was full of young professionals. The food was as close to traditional Spanish Tapas as we can get in Adelaide. Out of all the Tapas place I have tried in Adelaide this was the best. Definitely would be back again and definitely would recommend this place.
Faraja @ Adelaide, South Adelaide
Today we had a large group gathering at a restaurant called Faraja for breakfast. It’s located on the classy King William Road, the nicer part of Adelaide where you will find good bakeries and restaurants. We went there on Sunday morning. Parking is always easy around this restaurant with street side parking readily available. The restaurant has a cute cottage feel.
Chef Dong Chinese Restaurant @ Adelaide, SA
Chef Dong, a new Chinese restaurant that is a little misunderstood by the public. It is clean modern style restaurant different to the previous restaurant known as Imperial Palace which was closed down due to breaching state’s food standard code. Decorations and the cutleries used were modern and clean. Food is more lightly flavoured. Deserves to be tried by more people. Currently a quite place to have nice food.
UNDERSTANDING WEBSITE ANALYTICS
Star of Greece is located at Port Willunga, approximately 1.5 hour drive, which makes a perfect dinner or lunch place if you are on the way to McLaren Vale. The restaurant is situated at a cliff looking over turquoise water where a ship named “Star of Greece” sank in a storm while it was on its way to Britain, killed 17 men in total. York and I really think this is one of the best restaurant we have tried so far together in Australia. This may not be a fancy restaurant, but it is neat and simple and the food is spectacular.
