Lenzerheide Restaurant (South Australia, Australia)

Lenzerheide Restaurant is one of the finest restaurants in Adelaide. It was established in 1989 and has won multiple awards. York decided to take me here for our 2 month anniversary celebration. The appearance of the restaurant looked like a cottage from 1900’s. Once we entered the restaurant, it felt like we were in a different era. The decors were very elegant, reminded me of classy hotels from the early 1900’s. The ceilings were high and dining areas were spacious.

Since it was our anniversary, so York requested a window seat where it was quite cute with candle sitting on the window. The restaurant was dimly lit and felt quite romantic. We got served quite fast, the waiters were attentive and professional and they were able to answer any questions we had about the meals for the night. I think we had sourdough bread, it was warm and the butters were soft. I love healthy bread in high-class restaurants.

You can always tell how classy a restaurant is by looking at how far the tables are apart. For Lenzerheide Restaurant all the tables were very far apart, we felt like we were in our own little world. This cottage must be quite big to fit so many tables. The age group in the restaurant appears to be older, so even though everyone seemed to have a good time, the noise level was still quite low. We were guessing these people must be regulars, since the restaurant was quite busy for a Thursday night at 8.30pm.

The entrée was a good portion to share and it was delicious. The 2 meat dishes were cooked as requested (medium rare), the cuts were good and was tender. The sauces for each meat dishes were different, quite individualized. It mixed well with the ingredients.

Usually I am not a huge fan of large amount of sauce with steak, this one was quite appetizing. It was a decent portion as well, even though from previous reviews some people said the portions were a bit small, we found it quite filling. The wait time wasn’t too long either.

Overall I think the restaurant has lived up to its reputation for one of the finest dining experience in Adelaide. The services were great and we really enjoyed our night. The food was a bit above average, something you can probably cook at home if you are a great chef. However the atmosphere and the service is something that will want me to come back again. We also used the Entertainment book and it was buy 1 get 1 free for the main. Usually the mains are around $40, so it is slightly on an expensive side in Adelaide.

Personally I do think this is a place where you can take your loved ones, family and friends for a celebration. You will not disappoint.
