Today we had a large group gathering at a restaurant called Faraja for breakfast. It’s located on the classy King William Road, the nicer part of Adelaide where you will find good bakeries and restaurants. We went there on Sunday morning. Parking is always easy around this restaurant with street side parking readily available. The restaurant has a cute cottage feel. The tables were spaced out and in a way that allows you to have a relaxed meal.
We were placed outside on the side of the restaurant in a little court yard area as our group is very large. It was a very hot day around 35 degrees so we had large umbrellas covering our seating areas. It was still quite hot. Winny was busy wiping sweat off my face throughout the meal. Few of the others had to adjust themselves so they were undercover. This outdoor area would have been a lot nicer during cooler months.
We started off our breakfast with some Chai Latte. If you have read my previous reviews, you would know that Winny is pro at determining if the Chai Latte is good or not because she orders it everywhere. This time she thinks the Chai Latte is… a bit bland. Tasted like a weak latte with a tint of chai.
For breakfast, Winny ordered roast mushroom, gruyere, spinach omelette. The omelette was done well, soft in texture and packed with ingredients. The bread was slightly over burnt and a little oily. I ordered the scrambled egg, smoked salmon, grilled asparagus and hollandaise. I originally wanted to swap the scrambled egg with poached egg because I like poached eggs more but I had a straight no from the waiter when I asked for the change. I did like the scramble egg they made though. It was fluffy and the hollandaise sauce with the smoked salmon was quite nice. It was quite a standard dish but they did a nice job.
Faraja is a nice restaurant. It isn’t our favourite breakfast place but I believe they do a nice lunch and dinner menu. We will be back again to try them out again.
