Winny had a late start for work today so we decided to try one of the local breakfast cafes at Forestville. There are plenty of these small cafes in the Unley area. The one we decided to eat is called Dear Daisy. It is located right next to the railways . The café is small with a hand full of seats. The decoration inside was simple but cute. There were quite a selection on the breakfast menu but it is pretty much a variation of eggs cooked in different ways (like most other breakfast places).
The do coffees there and We decided to order two Chai lattés. Winny orders Chai lattés almost every time so her opinion on lattés is trustworthy and she thinks the lattés were done well.
Winny ordered from the breakfast menu which is called “the beans” It contained corn fritters, poached eggs, ham, bacon and tomato chutney. It also comes with two pieces of white bread heavily buttered. I believe most of the ingredients were freshly made and tasted nice. Not overly strong which was good for breakfast. The buttered bread was a little sickening though. Winny didn’t like them so I ate most of it.
I ordered wrap which contained roast chicken, bacon, avocado, lettuce and mayo. There were four other wraps to choose from. I specifically chose this wrap because Winny loves this particular wrap which has the exact same components at a small restaurant called “Grind it” down at Glenelg. I wanted to do a comparison between the two store and use the Glenelg one as bench mark. we came to the conclusion that this wrap did tasted good but still a little inferior over the one made at “Grind it”… which is okay, because the other one does taste really good.
We did had a good experience with the store. The store was quite packed out with young people and mothers with children. I do believe that many locals come to this cafe for breakfast or branch regularly as the price is reasonable and the food is nice.
