Walking through the dense fog in the Icelandic mountains looking for our friend Andy. We have not seen him for more than 3 hours and my voice is getting hoarse from yelling his name. The weather is getting colder by the hour and my glasses are now constantly cloudy due to the humidity. As the fog begins to thicken, I can see no more than 10 meters ahead. The sun will set soon and we do not even know where he is! This was the day that we called the emergency rescue team in Iceland.
Iceland Glacier Hike at Skaftafell National Park
We did our glacier hike in Skaftafell National Park, a place that holds the largest ice deposit in Iceland. The company we went with, Glacier Guides, hikes the Falljökull Glacier. Falljökull Glacier has a glacier that has a spectacular ice fall, something that is equivalent to a waterfall for a glacier. The journey up Falljökull Glacier was an adventurous one!
Simple ways to find & take pictures of the Northern Lights in Iceland
We have just finished our 15 day trip in Iceland and want to share some of our experiences on how to find and take pictures of the Northern Lights. Spotting the Northern lights can be a little difficult if you have not seen one with your eyes before. Usually the Northern Light appears significantly different to our naked eyes compared to what can be captured on the camera.
