When Winny and I decided to travel extensively this year, there is one budget we kept to the minimal and that is the food budget. In total we only spent less than $2500 AUD per person for a whole year on food and we did spend some time in expensive places and countries like Iceland and Scandinavia region. One of key to eat on a budget is to cook when and where it is possible and appropriate.

Budget travel: Hostels vs Airbnb
During our budget backpackers travel for the whole of last year, we nearly exclusively stayed in a hostel or at an Airbnb. The main reasons will be to keep the accommodation budget cost down. Morocco: Journey into the Sahara Desert in searching of The Little Prince
Today’s itinerary will be the highlight of our trip. We are heading into the Sahara desert and camping there for one night. Winny has adored the world famous book “Little Prince” when she was 8 and she has looked forward to staying in the Sahara desert ever since. Spending a night at the Sahara desert tonight will be a dream come true for her and I will be following her into the desert to look for the “Little prince”.
