Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant (South Australia, Australia)

2014-12-14 by Winny Leave a Comment

Barramundi south australia

Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant is an award winning restaurant situated on the banks of Torrens River in South Australia, only minutes’ walk from Adelaide CBD. Overall it is a nice contemporary modern Australian restaurant for lunch due to the nice view, relaxing atmospheres. The foods are slightly above average and services should be improved. Next time we may give dinner a try.

Lenzerheide Restaurant (South Australia, Australia)

2014-12-14 by Winny Leave a Comment

Lenzerheide Restaurant

Lenzerheide Restaurant is one of the finest restaurants in Adelaide. It was established in 1989 and has won multiple awards. The appearance of the restaurant looked like a cottage from 1900’s. Once we entered the restaurant, it felt like we were in a different era. The decors were very elegant, reminded me of classy hotels from the early 1900’s. York decided to take me here for our 2 month anniversary celebration after work.

1918 Bistro and Grill (Barossa Valley, South Australia)

Yoghurt Lime Parfait

After our morning visit to Barossa Chateau at Lyndoch Hill, Lyndoch Bakery and The Whispering Wall at Barossa Reservoir, we finally reached our lunch destination- 1918 Bistro and Grill. This Restaurant is located in one of the major towns of Barossa Valley- Tanunda. The restaurant was a family home back in 1918, in 1992 it turned into Barossa’s first bistro and grill. It is one of the best restaurants in Barossa Valley. The food was delicious and made from fresh, local produce. The dessert was worth a mention, we would love to come back and try out more!

Second visit 72 Hours in Paris II- Palace of Versailles

2014-12-13 by Winny Leave a Comment

Personally I reckon Palace of Versailles is one of the must-visit for first timers in Paris, together with the Louvre, Arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Everyone seems to put Notre Dame on the must-see list, however I really don’t think it is that spectacular, there are a lot of other amazing churches in Europe. York was one of those tourists last year, he did not leave the Paris city center and had not heard of Versailles before (shock horror!). I have visited Versailles when I was a kid, I really wanted to show York why this place is so popular!

Cliché Exhibition @ Adelaide, South Australia

2014-12-12 by York Chiang Leave a Comment

cliche exhibition adelaide

Cliché Exhibition is a modern French style restaurant. The interior decorations is beautiful and interesting filled with paintings. The food was cooked quite quickly and the order they came out was perfect. Although the waiting staff were extremely busy, they didn’t cut back on service. They regularly check our table, refilling our water glasses. They were also efficient at cleaning and replacing our used cutleries and plates. The food was finely made, delicious and generous in proportion especially the dish called Frickin’. It is one of the best dishes I have tasted.

Dear Daisy @ Adelaide, South Australia

2014-12-11 by York Chiang Leave a Comment

Dear Daisy

Dear Daisy is a local breakfast cafes at Forestville near Unley. It is located right next to the railways. The café is cute, small with a hand full of seats. There were quite a selection on the breakfast menu. The store was quite packed out with young people and mothers with children. I do believe that many locals come here for breakfast or branch regularly as the price was reasonable. We also didn’t have to wait long for food.

Second visit 72 Hours in Paris I- The Michelin Experience @ Restaurant Antoine

2014-12-08 by Winny Leave a Comment

Eiffel tower - Antoine Paris

In a city that is flooded with Michelin Star restaurants, it will be a shame not to visit one. We wanted to eat at a Michelin restaurant preferably one with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Restaurant Antoine seemed to tick all the boxes. It is a 1 starred Michelin restaurant that specializes in seafood which I love. We had a window table that supposedly the best view in the restaurant to see the Eiffel Tower, however I was quite disappointed as the tower was blocked off by the trees (upon further reading it seems like the perfect view of Eiffel Tower is only visible during non-summer months when there are no foliage). Most of the dishes were delicious and the sophisticated taste isn’t something that we could easily replicate in our own kitchen.

Max Brenner @ Nishi Building on NewActon (Canberra, Australia)

2014-12-03 by Winny Leave a Comment

Praline Max Brenner

My first time having Max Brenner was in Sydney. It is an international chocolate restaurant based in New York, with more than 50 locations worldwide. They specializes in creating chocolate-based desserts such as crepes, fondue, milkshakes, hot chocolates served in signature utensils (such as “Hug Mug”, where the tip of the cup is in a pointy shape so you can hold the mug in your hand and drink from the tip). It was a sweet craving on a Sunday night after Sri Lankan food at Camellia Restaurant.

Failed day trip to Barossa Valley (Due to no famous wineries)

2014-12-01 by Winny Leave a Comment

Barossa Valley Tanunda Chateau

Barossa Valley is one of the most famous wine regions in Australia. It was a fail day trip since we did not go to any famous wineries. However we did end up trying out a few food places and experience the fresh produce provided by South Australia.
